- Highly correlated systems (heavy electron metals, Kondo systems and sodium cobaltate)
- Superconducting materials (alkali-metal doped fullerenes, borocarbides and MgB2 and iron-pnictides)
- Low-dimensional systems with broken-symmetry ground states
- Ladder systems
- Magneto-optical study of f-electron systems (rare-earth and actinide compounds)
- Carbon nanotube: an ideal one dimensional quantum wire
